Grace Guthrie

Grace Guthrie has lived in Kansas City since 1996 and attended Academie Lafayette, a French-immersion charter school in Kansas City, Missouri, from 2001-2009. In the years following, Grace worked as a Kindergarten Aide for the Academie Lafayette Summer School and had the opportunity to work alongside teachers from various Francophone countries. 

Grace will admit she originally took this experience for granted, but credits her years at Academie Lafayette for instilling in her a love of languages and interest in learning about other cultures. 

Grace attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and had the opportunity to study abroad in Rennes, France. In 2017 she graduated with a BA in French Language Studies and Psychology.

Following her undergraduate studies, Grace spent 10 months living in Nancy, France, working as an English Language Teaching Assistant. This experience helped her further solidify her language skills, as well as provided profound cultural experiences. Some of her favorite experiences included teaching her French students about the book "The Night Before Christmas" and travelling to other European countries. 

Grace recently completed her MS in Nutrition, Dietetics and Social Sciences through Kansas State University and her career plans are to work as a Registered Dietitian with families with food allergies. 

Grace currently works for Garmin International on the Sales team, but previously worked on the French Bilingual Product Support team. Outside of work, Grace loves taking her dog Sofia to get pup cups from local coffee shops and testing new sourdough bread recipes.
