ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To prepare lesson plans and interactive activities for each class
  • To implement the Alliance Française curriculum and textbooks
  • To guide and encourage students to learn to speak, understand, read, and write French
  • To assign homework, and assess students' progress through DELF exam preparations
  • To promote French and Francophone cultures
  • To participate in teachers' informational meetings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native French speaker or equivalent proficiency
  • Teaching certificate or equivalent degree
  • Experience in teaching French language
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. work permit, work visa, or green card)
  • Availability to teach evening classes (6:00 - 8:30 pm) and Saturday classes (9:30 am - 12:00 pm)

The Alliance Française of Kansas City is seeking French Teachers for online tutoring with the following course offerings:

  • Private Tutor for Adults
  • Private Tutor for Children (under 18)*
  • French Class Teacher for Adults
  • French Class Teacher for Children (under 18)*

POSITION SUMMARY

The French teacher will teach private and/or group classes online using Google Meet, Zoom or Jitsi. S/he will teach according to the Alliance Française curriculum and pedagogical principles, which are based on the Common European Fremwork of Reference for Languages. S/he will promote the core values and mission of the Alliance Française.

*Candidates teaching children will be required to provide a background check, unless a verifiable teaching position or substitute license is currently held. Only candidates with work permits in the USA will be considered.
