What is the TCF?

The TCF is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. The TCF examination assesses a person’s level of French language for general purposes. It is intended for people who are not native French speakers and who, for professional, personal or academic reasons, wish to have their competency in French assessed and certified simply, reliably and quickly

2026 Fees

Please read carefully before signing up for an exam

1. The candidate understands that the TCF test version at the AFKC is the On-Computer version administered in-person at the AFKC office.

2. Cancellation fees:
    a.    $50: Up to 4 weeks to the date of the exam.
    b.    $100: 1 to 4 weeks to the date of the exam.
    c.    $150: 1 week to the date of the exam (exemptions may apply).

3. Transfer fees:
   a.    $0: transfer to an earlier date (only if open spots are available)
   b.    $0: transfer to a later date,  requested earlier than 30 days before test date for which initial registration is made.
   c.    $50: transfer to a later date,  requested within 30 days before test date for which initial registration is made.

4. It is the candidate’s responsibility to check that their names and details are correct on the confirmation of enrollment, as they appear on their passport. The same details will appear on the attestation.

5. Candidates should arrive at the time indicated on the notification of examination (attestation), which they will receive by email between 5 to days before the exam date.

6. There may be a gap up to an hour and a half between a candidate’s written and oral examinations. The candidate understands that the oral examination will be recorded as it is required for double examination.

7. Candidates will be required to bring an valid official biometric  proof of identity on their examination day and the notification of examination timetable. Only passports, national ID cards and photo drivers licenses will be accepted. Failure to produce one of the above mentioned IDs will deny candidates access to the examination room without refund.

8. Results will be ready 1 to 4 weeks after the examination day, it may take longer during the summer break.

9. Candidates will receive an automated email from FEI (France Education international) 3 to 4 days before the exam with instructions on how to open a "TCF Candidat" account.

10. The test results (Attestation) will be available through this account.

11. The downloadable PDF document is the official Attestation and the QR code allows to verify its validity and authenticity.

12.  A registration is only complete once the candidate has paid the exam fee.

13. The candidate understands that exam dates may be subject to alterations or cancellations in cases of insufficient number of candidates and/or unforeseen circumstances.

14. The re-evaluation of the speaking and/or writing tests are possible within three weeks of receiving the test results. The reevaluation of each skill is subject to a $65 fee. In the case of change of level $55 will be returned to the candidate.

15. Please note that the re-evaluation request could lead to a drop in the initial level. In which case, only the results of the new correction are considered valid. In the event of modification of the results by FEI, presenting the first certificate will therefore be considered fraud and may be subject to sanctions.

16. The center will be informed of the decision within 4 to 6 weeks of sending the re-evaluation request.

Registration

You do NOT need to be an active AFKC member to register for a TCF session.

Registrations are open until 5 days before the exam.

After selecting your session from the list below, you can start the registration process by clicking on the red Register button on the left side of the TCF session.
