Spring Weekly Conversation en Français
Please note: the format of the conversation classes has changed for the Spring
session. We will offer 8 conversation classes at the same time slot (Monday, 6pm), for a special flat rate of $90 (single package option).
There won't be class on May 25th (Memorial Day)
🎬 A Spring Session Inspired by Cinema
For April conversation classes, Jean-Louis will guide participants through conversations inspired by the films featured in our upcoming French Film Festival. These sessions are a unique opportunity to explore language through culture while preparing to fully enjoy the screenings.
Participants will discuss themes such as:
- 🎨 Monday, April 6th: Talking about Impressionist painters, the birth of photography, and how people lived in France in the late 19th century. This class introduces the film The Colors of Time (screened on Friday, May 1st).
- 🎻 Monday, April 13th: Discussing classical music, strong personalities, and the challenges of working together as a group. This class prepares for the film The Musicians (screened on Saturday, May 2nd).
- 🏠 Monday, April 20th: Exploring family dynamics, family memory and trauma during World War II in Paris, and understanding the social context of the May 1968 events in France. This class introduces the film The Safe House (screened on Sunday, May 3rd).
- 🍷 Monday, April 27th: Talking about food, cultural identity, and family expectations, with a focus on the influence of North African cuisine in France. This class prepares for the film Spice and Lies (screened on Sunday, May 10th).
