How to go about Etymology

This Workshop was a success when it was offered for the first time in May. Some of you wanted to sign up, but there were no open spots left.

If you missed that last one, do not worry, this is the same workshop being offered again.

If you attended the first session or are attending this one, a sequal will be offered, in mid-October. Since you will already have had the introductory basics to etymology, the sequal will contain more examples and you will get to bring your own list of words to explore.

Have you ever been puzzled by the word "chez" in French and wondered where it comes from and why do we not find anything remotely similar to it in English?
The answer to this question and other most common words in French will be discussed during this workshop.

You will also acquire a general understanding of etymology and how to approach new words throughout your learning journey. This workshop will be conducted in English and could interest French learners of all levels.
